- Canoe, kayak or tube the three-mile
historic Congaree River trip from the West Columbia River
Walk or Senate Street Landing to the Cayce Landing. Fish
for a striped bass.
- Canoe or kayak Congaree Creek from the US321
landing to the take out near 12th Street.
- Canoe or kayak Cedar Creek in Congaree National
Park.
- Take your white water kayak to the north
end of the Riverbanks Zoo parking lot and experience the
pop-up hole in Mill Race Rapids.
- Take two days and paddle the Congaree River
down to the US601 Bridge seeing the edges of Congaree Swamp
and camping on the sandbars.
- Go to the Hilton Landing on Lake Murray,
sea kayak out and explore the remote islands.
- Paddle the Saluda River from Lake Greenwood
to Lake Murray.
- Paddle any stretch of the Edisto River
and enjoy its cold, rich black-water and luxuriant foliage. Fish
for a redbreast or catfish.
- Explore the recreational lake
at Lake Monticello and see lots of wildlife.
