| South
Carolina is blessed with a temperate climate that allows outdoor
recreation year-round. And nature-based activities offer everyone
the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature and the outdoors.
Currently, we have several categories of popular nature-based activities
and visitors may search our membership database for those members
who offer those activities. More categories may be added in the
future and we invite you to check back periodically. Please contact
us if you'd like to see other nature-based activities highlighted. |

Whitewater
Rafting
For
an adventurous outdoor experience, try whitewater rafting. Most
of South Carolina's rafting opportunities are "upstate"
where the typography is a bit more mountainous. Almost anyone who
enjoys the water can enjoy the thrills of riding the rapids.

Plantations
A
plantation is just another word for a Southern "farm,"
but these aren't typical American farms of today. With histories
going back before the Revolutionary War, some plantations were home
to influential people who shaped the course of U.S. history. Others
are architectural jewels of national significance -- all are fascinating
and usually offer an outdoor experience (self-guided walking tour.
etc.) with admission.
