2012 Annual SCNBTA Conference

The SCNBTA 2012 Annual Conference will be held at the Sea View Inn on Pawleys Island on March 13 & 14.   The Sea View Inn is located oceanfront with the marsh directly behind.  This historical Inn has been welcoming guests to it tranquil setting since 1937 and offers three meals a day, family style, has a huge front porch with rocking chairs and hammock, and a large living room overlooking the ocean.  The conference schedule will include several speakers, field trips, and entertainment on Tuesday evening.

Tyger River Sweep

SJWD Water District, Tyger River Foundation, Clemson Extension, and Spartanburg Parks are teaming up for the semi-annual Tyger River Park cleanup. Make the most of your Saturday morning and help keep our watershed clean! Free lunch will be provided for each participant. Sponsored by the Spartaburg County Parks Department, 9039 Fairforest Rd. Tame the Tyger River Race & Festival
Please join us at the Spartanburg County Parks ’ 13th Annual Tame the Tyger River Race & Festival Presented by Tyger River Foundation.

The recreational float starts at 10AM and downriver race starts at 11AM. The festival will feature BBQ, live bluegrass, boat demos, and prize drawings in which all registrants can win prizes. Racers will compete in long kayak (<10’), short kayak (10’+), women’s open, and open canoe divisions for prizes like a kayak (fastest overall time), Werner Sherpa paddle (short kayak 1st place), Watershed Ocoee Dry Duffel (long kayak 1st place), Eno hammocks, Pelican dry boxes, and more!

Register online at active.com or print and mail a PDF registration form. Registration fee includes T-shirt, shuttle service, entertainment, and lunch from Bull Hawgs BBQ. Save money and pre-register before 4/6! Volunteer safety boaters are also needed and will receive BBQ lunch and a t-shirt for their time on the water.

Save an additional $5 on your entry fee by participating in the Tyger River Sweep on Saturday, March 24. Free lunch will be provided.
